Thanks for checking out Alli and John’s Wedding Day at View Point at Buckhorn Creek!!

Here is their story:

Strange how we were going to the same church every week and never met until this night, at our monthly worship service. On September 5, 2018, I was walking into church and suddenly a friend swung me around, quickly introduced us and took off to carry on conversations with others. That left us standing there looking at each other wondering where to go from there. I told him “Norwood” was a pretty strong name (not knowing that one day it would be mine). We went on to discover we both had been involved in Miracle Hill Ministries. Then he explained he had received some exciting news that day and was anxious to tell the world about it. Even though I had just met him, he easily shared it all with me. He was so excited but before I had time to express my happiness for him, the worship team music had begun and the lights had dimmed. A signal for us to take our seats. Norwood leaned back against the wall, and accidentally hit the light switch turning all the lights back on! So when the media team was waving to get his attention to turn them back off, he just smiled and waved backed. I knew what was happening so I just reached around him and flipped the switch back off. I looked at him and said “I have a feeling stuff like that happens to you all the time!” (come to find out, it really does) With a slightly red face, he went on to his seat as did I. I’m not sure what the worship team sang that night or what Pastor Roy shared with us because I just wanted to get back to that John Norwood guy. I wanted to talk to him more about anything, but a good place to begin would be by telling him how excited I was to hear his good news! We talked a bit more after the service and I asked if he was going to a Miracle Hill event the following Saturday. He didn’t say yes or no but I was disappointed not to see him there. I did see him at church the following week as I was leaving early service and he was heading in to second service. He was so easy to talk to but we only had a brief conversation. He was on my mind a lot that week. A few days later, I was excited when our mutual friend wanted to know if it was ok if she gave him my number. Of course I said yes…I felt like I had so much to say to him and I didn’t even know what it was. I was so excited and anxiously waited for his call only for it to take him a week! We spoke a few times, then one day he called to invite me for coffee… in 20 mins! I was NOT going to change clothes because I didn’t want him to think I was too anxious, so I got straight in my car wearing, what a friend calls, my “give-up-on-life” XXL sweatpants, a baggy t-shirt, white socks, and my slides. Bless his heart, he never commented on it. Our first meeting at the coffee shop patio lasted for 2 hours even though at some point it started raining on us! We found we had many things in common but most importantly we both gave the Lord all the credit for our lives now. Shortly after our coffee shop date, Norwood joined my small group from church, we met each others friends, and we got to know each other even better. We both admit now, we felt that connection from the very beginning. I wish I could say things were perfect after that and it was a perfect relationship. It wasn’t. We had to work through some things as couples do. The blessing is we did work through it and we have a stronger love because of it. Relationships take time. Even though we were ready to get married a few months after we met, we realized we needed time to learn more about each other, discuss our differences, share with each other and put our relationship with God and each other first! Faith, forgiveness, a strong love, commitment and determination got us where we are now. Little did I know when we met, that exactly 2 years later would be our wedding day and I would take that strong name I loved and make it my own. I cannot tell you how excited I am to marry this man and be Mrs. Norwood. He makes me so very happy and beyond all doubt, he is absolutely the best thing that ever happened to me

And When the Big Question Was Asked…

He asked me three times and it finally stuck…
