Here is their story:

Mary and Nick met through friends in Greenville, became best friends and fell in love.

And when the big question was asked:

After several years of dating, Nick had received the blessing from Mary’s son and daughter to marry their mother. It was a rainy December day. Nick had created a pathway of rose petals and candles from the driveway into the house. As Mary entered, with Luther Vandross playing in the background, Nick got on one knee and asked to spend the rest of their lives together.
