Here is their story:

We met our freshman year of high school. We remained close friends through much of high school but did not begin to date until after our senior prom. We maintained our relationship long distance during college while CJ was in Connecticut and Austin was in South Carolina. We both like to be active. We enjoy hiking and exploring around Greenville together. Austin planned a very well thought-out proposal. CJ was completely surprised and Austin had our families there to see it!

And when the big question was asked:

After six years of dating, Austin came up with an elaborate plan to ask CJ to be his wife. On June 13, 2018, Austin took CJ downtown for what she thought were dinner plans. Unbeknownst to her, Austin and CJ’s families were waiting to surprise her on the main street bridge above Falls Park. When they were halfway across the footbridge below, CJ was completely surprised as Austin pointed out their families and proceeded to kneel down on one knee to ask for CJ’s hand in marriage.
In true CJ fashion, she began to question if he was “serious”. Austin’s heart then stopped, but after regaining his composure squeaked out a subtle “yes”. After what felt like eons, Charley finally answered with a yes of her own. Messy crying (mainly Austin) then commenced. Austin and CJ have been preparing to write their new chapter together ever since.
